TAI CHI FOR HEALTH
Justice Karate American Shotokan hosts Tai Chi Saturdays at 1 p.m.
Tai Chi is a martial art that is as much internal as it is external. The health benefits reported by practitioners consists of a decrease in arthritic symptoms and pain, reduction of stress, improvement in flexibility and memory, reduction of blood pressure, even an improvement of symptoms related to early Parkinson’s disease. A 2016 study by the Boston University Medical Center observed the beneficial effects of Tai Chi for populations suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, most notably veterans returning from war.
